I wanted to thank you for the great experience everyone at the Riders Edge gave me along with my new motorcycle license. I went for my first ride yesterday and it was fantastic, a wonderful experience I will never forget. I felt very confident of knowing what I was doing. And it was because of the class I took with you! Thank you again and ride safe!

| Hi Jean,
I thought I would take a moment to tell you about my experience at The Rider's Edge course on 6/12. The environment was very professional and the entire day ran like clock work. The instructions were very detailed with an emphasis on safety. The instructors were very patient, correcting us were needed. All of us (students) gained confidence by repeating the exercises and having fun at the same time. At the end of the day I thought about how impressive the course was and have already recommended it a few friends.
Thank you.

| Jean,
I just wanted to e-mail to talk to you about the Riders Edge course. I have been the Community Traffic Safety Coordinator for Baltimore County for 6 years. Essentially my job is traffic safety. I took the Riders Edge course at Baltimore Harley on June 28,29 and 30. My reasons for taking the course were both personal and professional. Personally I wanted to learn to ride safely and to have the tools to become a better rider. Professionally there were a number of reasons to take the course. I conduct many traffic safety educational presentations every year. I speak to high school students, senior citizens, community associations and local businesses. All of these presentations are about safe driving. I am asked frequently about motorcycle law and motorcycle safety. I have always recommended that anyone, young or older, who is interested in riding, should take a safety course.
Until now I had not taken the course that I routinely recommended. I wanted you to know how impressed I was with the class. My instructor was Grace McCall. Grace was knowledgeable and had a great teaching style. It was evident that she truly cared about her students and felt strongly about teaching her students the techniques needed to safely operate a motorcycle. Her humor made the class relaxed and fun. The staff at Baltimore Harley was friendly and willing to answer questions and just talk. They, as well as Grace, made the class feel welcome and comfortable during the three days we spent there. It was a great experience. I will continue to recommend that those interested in motorcycling take a safety course. I will however, mention the class at Baltimore Harley specifically. You and your staff are doing great things with regard to motorcycle safety. Too often we only hear the negatives associated with classes and training. I thought it was important to recognize the positive efforts and the great work that you are doing. Thanks for a great time and a great experience. Hi Jean,
As you already know, Grace is awesome. She helped me diagnose and breakdown what I was doing wrong and enabled me to pass the course this time. I took the BRC last Fall and walked away after a couple of bad spills. Interestingly, Grace was my instructor then also. When I had a spill at the same point in the course I did last time, my confidence started to wane again. Grace refused to allow me to dwell on the spill and helped me realize what I was doing wrong and worked with me to correct it. I actually lost 0 points on that part of the skills evaluation!
As far as the course, I liked it. The range portion is great. The exercises take you through the required skills at a good pace and in a good order. You get plenty of practice and instruction and NO PRESSURE OR GUILT when you take a spill and damage the bike. The classroom instruction was OK. The book and videos are good as was the instruction.
I would recommend this course for anyone who wants to learn to ride or just be a safer rider. I look forward to using the skills I learned on my soon to be purchased bike.
Thanks.
Mike | |
