The Low Rider® S is a member of the Harley-Davidson® Cruiser family and therefore built on the Softail® platform. But the Low Rider® S is notable in how it differs from other Harley-Davidson® cruisers. The general emphasis with modern cruiser design is comfort and appearance, and while that is the case with the Low Rider® S as well, there is just as much focus on performance. In fact, the Low Rider® S is one of the only cruisers made by Harley-Davidson® that comes standard with its Milwaukee-Eight® 117 engine.
Performance & Ride Characteristics
The Milwaukee-Eight® 117 V-Twin engine that is included standard with the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Low Rider® S near Bel Air is the most powerful air-cooled engine that Harley-Davidson® currently makes. Appearance-wise, the Low Rider® S boasts a modern take on the classic West Coast style. The rider positioning is upright and the foot controls are mid mounted. There is no full fairing, but the Low Rider® S has a headlamp cowl that does break the wind and keep it offer the rider.
This Is the Right Bike For

The rider positioning is sport bike-ish. The engine delivers much more performance than the typical cruiser, but you also get the cool factor and comfort that lets you rider it for hours on end.
Design Options
The Low Rider® S has a modern black finish as you’d expect from a motorcycle inspired by the West Coast custom scene. Contrast is provided by the chrome powerplant and bronze-finished wheels. The Vivid Black paint scheme is standard. The cowl, fenders and fuel tank all have a gloss-black finish, which is contrasted by the matte black of the seat, exhaust and other elements. White Sand Pearl is the premium option, and it replaces all of the gloss black with a deep antique white. White Sand Pearl is a new option for the 2023 model year and replaces Gunship Gray, which has been retired.
Other Customization Options
The only other choice that you need to make at the time of purchase of the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Low Rider® S is whether you want the optional anti-lock braking system. Harley-Davidson® of Baltimore does, however, provide you access to all of the personalization options available through the Harley-Davidson® catalog, and we can install them as well.
