What’s New for 2022
For the 2022 model year, much of the focus was on the Grand American Touring platform itself as opposed to the individual models. The brand made changes to the RDRS suite, which it now refers to as rider safety enhancements. Some of those features have become standard, such as the Reflex linked Brembo brakes with ABS. The rest can be added as a factory option. For the Ultra Limited, Harley-Davidson® has introduced a new range of color options, including special editions, and we’ll break those options down in the customization section.
Ultra Limited Ride Characteristics
The 2022 Harley-Davidson® Ultra Limited in Baltimore is a full-dress bagger. What distinguishes it from some other full-dress baggers is that it has a fork-mounted fairing as opposed to a frame-mounted fairing or no fairing at all. If you’re unsure of the differences, which usually come down to personal preference, we recommend you test ride the 2022 Harley-Davidson® Ultra Limited and compare it against the alternative setups. The Ultra Limited has a tall profile and puts the rider in an upright riding position with mid foot controls. A modern infotainment system is included. Ultra Limited Performance
The Ultra Limited is powered by the Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight® 114 V-Twin engine. This engine is more powerful than the Milwaukee-Eight® 107, which powers most Harley-Davidson® touring motorcycles, and it should prove more than enough for most riders in and near Laurel Columbia Frederick Bel Air. If you do want more performance, however, you can have our shop install a Screamin’ Eagle engine upgrade kit, and that will bring the performance in line with the Milwaukee-Eight® 117.
Ultra Limited Customization
Harley-Davidson® of Baltimore gives our customers in and near Laurel Columbia Frederick Bel Air the choice between either a traditional chrome finish or the more modern black finish. Most color options are available with either finish: Vivid Black, Midnight Crimson with Vivid Black, Reef Blue with Vivid Black and Apex. Apex is a special color scheme for this year that feature the brand’s iconic color pairing. The exceptions are Gauntlet Gray Metallic, which is exclusive to the chrome finish, and Gunship Gray, which is exclusive to the black finish. The are also four special editions for the 2023 model year honoring first responders, and those are limited to chrome as well. Note also that if you want the rider safety enhancements, you must opt for that suite at purchase as it cannot be added to the bike later.
